Notes: Desktop-based e-commerce growth was 13% for 2013, though online retail’s growth overall was a point higher when factoring in mobile, which grew by 23% year-over-year. In fact, mobile accounted for 10.5% of total e-commerce spending last year, driven more by smartphones (7%) than tablets (4%). The greater share for smartphones is based on device penetration, comScore notes, as tablet owners spend more on a per-user basis.
