SMBs and National Brands Each to Exceed $50B in Local Media Ad Spend Next Year

    Notes: SMBs will spend $50.4 billion on local media advertising next year, or 35.8% of total local media advertising spending, projects BIA/Kelsey in a forecast of its forthcoming US Local Media Forecast 2015. SMB spending – three-quarters of which will be allocated to traditional media – will match local ad spending by national brands, which will total $50.5 billion, or 35.9% of total spending. The remaining 28.2% ($29.3 billion) of spending will be by local brands that are not SMBs. Local media ad spending by SMBs and national brands are each expected to grow by 18.3% between 2015 and 2019, as total local media ad spend grows from $140.7 billion to $163.4 billion.
